12 Insects Unity
The butterfly motif is the oldest in the De’VIA (Deaf View Image Art) genre. I wanted to create a collection of bugs as my motif, exploring how their communication behaviors can metaphorically represent the Deaf community and my personal spirituality.
For instance, ants, known for their strong colony structure, symbolize the unity and resilience of the Deaf community. Bees, with their intricate dance-like communication, represent the visual language of ASL. And Fireflies, twinkling beacons in the darkness, mirror the way we use light to illuminate our expressive faces and hands, a visual language that defines our culture. And going on with different insects on your interpretations.

Excerpts From The COVID-19 Days
During the isolating days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the artist found solace and purpose in a unique creative endeavor. By repurposing vintage postcards featuring delicate flower paintings, they transformed these nostalgic items into powerful symbols of resilience and introspection. Using a simple black marker, the artist intertwined the floral motifs, creating intricate and thought-provoking designs that mirrored the complex emotions of the time. This creative outlet served as a cathartic process, allowing the artist to process the anxiety, uncertainty, and political turmoil of the pandemic. The resulting artwork, a collection of over 130 pieces, is a testament to the human spirit's ability to find beauty and meaning even in the darkest of times.
